It seems like cookie butter has been growing in popularity, doesn’t it?
The agents have been big fans for ages, before it was cool, just so you know.
Anyways, these bars are basic. As in, you don’t need chocolate chips, nuts, or whatever. But feel free to do that, if your heart desires. Who knows, maybe we will bring an upgraded version of this recipe in the future with some add-ons, but as of now, we’ll keep it simple.
However, there is one ingredient that albeit not necessary, is more than recommended: cookie butter extract. Seriously, if you don’t have it by now, buy it, and you’ll feel tempted to add it to any desserts you make.
Now let’s get to it.
You’re gonna need:
-Mixer
-Bowls
-Spatula
-Oven
-Aluminum foil
-9x9x2 inch baking pan
Ingredients:
-3/4 cup unsalted butter (at room temperature)
-3/4 cup Biscoff cookie butter spread
-1 1/2 cups brown sugar
-2 large eggs
-1 tsp cookie butter extract (if you can’t find it, use vanilla extract, but it’s definitely not the same)
-1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
-3/4 tsp salt
-1/2 tsp baking powder
Instructions:
1- Preheat the oven to 340°F. Line the baking pan with foil, not forgetting the sides. Set it aside.
2- In a bowl, combine the flour, salt and baking powder. Set aside.
3- In the mixer bowl, beat unsalted butter, Biscoff butter, cookie butter extract, and brown sugar until creamy and well combined.
4- With the mixer on, add in the eggs, one by one, beating well after each addition.
5- With the mixer on low, gradually add in the flour mix. Beat it just enough until combined. Scrape the sides to make sure you are not leaving anything behind.
6- Put the batter in the prepared baking pan and bake it for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until the sides start to turn light brown.
That’s it!
